Pours dark mahogany brown that is a deep, clear copper when held up to light underneath a huge, fluffy tan head that recedes fairly quickly to small cap and leaves only spotty lacing.
The aroma is sweet with chocolate and caramel but also has a significant toasted nut character with a hint of smoked malts in the background. Maybe some hops but you have to struggle to find it in the nose.
The hops are more noticeable in the taste with a bit of an earthy hop kick up front before the smooth chocolate and toasted nuts take over. The finish is dry with some lightly toasted bread and faint hop bitterness.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation and very smooth.
This is certainly not the most complex porter but it’s exceptionally drinkable and I’m pretty impressed with what I’ve tasted from Lazy Magnolia in terms of darker beers (Southern Pecan and Jefferson stout are even better IMO). garmonbozia (229), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

I picked up the growler at Corner Market here in Hattiesburg and anticipating the USM game today, This is by far the best beer LM has put out. Nice dark amber color with tan head. Smell is of chocolate and nuttyness. taste is an awsome dry porter with hints of chocolate and maybe some nuts. This beer has a thicker mouthfeel that any other LM beer I have tried. The growler is also very cool looking as well. Awsome beer Leslie and thanks Matt for the email about the beer.
