| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Poured with a very thin head that dissipated quickly yet it had a nice amber shade. Not a very big nose but there was a hint of caramel. Smooth entry that transitions smoothly to a sweet finish consisting of caramel, dates, vanilla and a pleasant, mild bitterness. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some light sweet toffee notes. Taste is dominated by quite rich caramel malt notes with a nice malt presence with no discernable hops presence. I can’t say I really detected any pecans though kudos for trying something different. gorditoabd (174), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Very straightforward. A nice brown ale that finishes the way it starts. Caramel, earthy flavors, and just enough darkness to make it taste like a much higher ABV than it is. jwatson (1), Mississippi, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2009 This is a local beer for me and the first time I tried this beer was off the tap at a local restaurant and I really enjoyed it. It left a sweet taste in my mouth after every drink I would drink this draft any chance I could. I have also bought it in the bottle and cant say that I really enjoyed it, it doesnt taste the same to me. djd07 (755), Houston, Texas, USA
