Commercial Description:
A true classic. The original pecan beer. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don’t mix. Maybe it’s something about the water here, and maybe it’s just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

Pours a small tan with fair retention and some spotty lace. Clear, amber orange colored brew. Nose is soft with pecan nuttiness, malts are lightly sweet, caramelly, grainy. Body is med/light, lightly oily on the palate, nice for some reason. Grainy, bready malts flavors are fairly dry, pleasently nutty with a light fruitiness and a hint of licorice. Lightly sweet, gently nutty finish. A nice sesion brew imho and would be a welcome drink in my house anytime. Surprisingly drinkable! Props to BeerandBlues2 for the pair of 12ozers! Thanks Brad!

Dark amber with a big, tight biege head. Malty sweet nose with hints of caramel and raw grain. Lively on the tongue. Lots of caramel and toffee sweetness with an almost peppery bight to it. I’ll take the suggestion and say that there are both flavor aspects and an almost raw nut dustiness to this beer that could easily be attributed to pecans Good tasting and smooth.

Thanks to Dansting for this one. Pours a transparent brown with a small white head present. The nose is real nutty and malty. There is some pecan flavor and lots of malt sweetness. It leaves a bit of a funk aftertaste in your mouth.

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear ruby amber with a nice off-white head. Malt filled nose with a hint of nut. Medium body. Distinct malt profile with a nice roasted nutty character. Slight edge to rather quick finish. Subtle lingering malt sweetness.

6-22-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to Brianj555
Color is a clear rich blood red brown with a thin little frothy head - looks very similar to blood with some lacing. Smell is nutty and malty. Flavor is nutty and strangely sweet - almost gritty. Taste is just a bit too offputting for me - that sweetness isn’t rich or enjoyable but instead seems out of place and just kinda kills it for me. Mouthfeel is quite chalky.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Dansting. Pour is brown orange with a smallish white head. Aroma of pecan nuts, maltiness and not much else. Taste is slightly malty, and a bunch of Pecan nuttiness. Palate is medium and drinkable. Nothing really bad about this beer, just a bit one dimensional (Pecan) and bland. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this one Dan.

Btl opened by brentfesh. A clean brown/red pour with slightly off white head and lace. Nutty aroma with hints of toasted malt. A pretty nice bitter finish with decent hints of nuts in the flavor. Slightly thin with decent carbonation. Pretty decent refreshing drinker.
