Commercial Description:
A true classic. The original pecan beer. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don’t mix. Maybe it’s something about the water here, and maybe it’s just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

Some buddies picked up a couple of bottles while on a road trip. Pours a light brownish red with a head that settles to a ring. Looks like cola. Nutty aroma with hints of sweetness. The flavor also has a little sweetness that is followed by a pleasant nutty aspect. Light, yet still somewhat flavorful. Pretty straightforward easy drinking brew.

A very tasty beer, something like Newcastle but a bit lighter. Very refreshing addition to a dinner at Guido’s in downtown Mobile.

(12oz. bottle) Pours a amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of cola, toasted pecans, and caramel. Flavor of caramel malt, nuts, and toasted bread.

Bottle courtesy of Brianj555. Thanks
Pours a clear reddish brown with a short lived fizzy beige head. Smell is nutty malt and not much else. Taste is metallic up front, followed by a thin nutty malt flavor. Easy drinking, but too thin, and not very flavorful. I didn’t find this to be a very good brown ale.

12oz bottle courtesy of trade with deepsouth. Pours a clear amber/brown with small head that dissipated fully and left no lacing. Aroma of pecans, and a bit winey. Taste of malt and pecans. Body was thin and a bit watery. Decently quenching. All in all, OK.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with GAManiac. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a thin off-white head that disappeared after a couple of sips and left virtually no lace. Very light aroma of malt and nuts, which I am assuming are pecans. Its really too indistinct to tell for sure. Much more flavorful than the aroma suggests with some lightly sweet malt, a bit of brown sugar, and pecans. The pecans really add a richness to this beer in both the flavor and the texture. Very enjoyable. Another state...MS...Whoot!
