Unbeknownst to him, he gave me a new state. With my dietary woes, I get much of my protein from nuts and beans. I’m sure glad that this was seasoned with the former. From the bottle it poured a light brown body (chestnut, perhaps?) with a modest white head. It has a sweet worty aroma enhanced by what seemed to be a pecan extract. Just enough of a soft nut bitterness is added to the flavor to keep it from getting cloying. Sessionable.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Pours a clear brownish amber with a small dense head which dissipates very quickly leaving very little lacing or foam. Aroma is of sweet malts, caramel, and, of course pecans. Starts off with a very sweet malt blast followed by a strong roasted pecan flavor with hints of caramel. Finishes with a light hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied and relatively creamy for the style. Carbonation fizzed a little on the tongue. I could drink this one all night. I would rate this as one of the better nut brown ales I’ve had and would definitely seek it out. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA

Pours a nice amber orange with a small tan head. Aroma of brown sugar and roasty nuts and malt. Flavor is similar, but the nuts didn’t come through as much on the tongue. Sweet and easy drinking.
If beer and nuts don’t mix, why do they make Beer Nuts? BOLTZ7555 (1098), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Screw "conventional wisdom" that "nuts and beer don’t mix". This is a tasty beer!!! Burnt orange bordering blood-red (a theme of the night), this beer is pure Mississippi sweet tea...natural sugar and buttered-pecan. Yummy. Mild grassy notes reminiscent of the Great Plain states. Head to the storm cellar...a twister is a brewin’!!! Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Pours a clear ruby color with minimal white head. Nose is caramel malts, molasses and toasted nuts. Palate is much like it smells: caramel, brown sugar and a touch of spice. Liquid pecan pie? Not my favorite style, but a decent representation I suppose. unclemattie (2416), Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2008 12oz bottle. Perfect, Reddish-brown color, nice creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel and some nutty mealiness. Flavor is a sweet malt, buttery, caramel, and a distant oiliness of pecans. Mostly a nut flavor from the malts not so much of the pecans. Overall it is a very drinkable beer and very enjoyable. When in Mississippi this is the beer I will look for!
