Commercial Description:
A true classic. The original pecan beer. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don’t mix. Maybe it’s something about the water here, and maybe it’s just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

pour from tap came to me flat. not a good sign to start with. aroma was kind of acrid with none of the nuttiness i was expecting. flavor was somewhat malty and buttery, but with a metallic aftertaste. im guessing skunked lines or just an old keg. too bad given the higher ratings most gave this.

Bottle pours a nice amber with a quickly deminishing off white head. Produces spotty lacing. Has a good aroma of chocolate, Roast, and nuts. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is decent with hints of spices, and roast nuts. Has an oily texture. A light body. The finish is decent with an alright aftertaste.

Sampled at the 8th Annual Music City Brewer’s Festival. Clear dark red with an off white head. Sweet aroma, pecans are there, caramel. Taste is sweet again, very sweet brown malts and a pecan note that doesn’t make it nutty but seems to make it even sweeter.
