Commercial Description:
A true classic. The original pecan beer. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don’t mix. Maybe it’s something about the water here, and maybe it’s just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

12oz bottle via trade. Pours copper with a small tan head, that turns into a ring of lacing rather quick. Aroma is of nuts, brown sugar, malt, and caramel. Taste of is burnt pecans, malt, brown sugar, and caramel. Has the most faint of hops in the flavor. Lingering nutty malt flavor. Mouthfeel is light, almost watery. Eh, nothing spectacular.

This does not have the burnt flavor of alot of brown ales. It is very smooth and drinkable. It is slightly sweet, but not very noticable. Drinks best in a sniffer glass. Does have an acidic carbonated tinge.

Pour a red brown color with a 1/2 inch tan head and low carbonation. Aroma is slightly nutty, light caramel and some sweet toasted malt tones. Flavor is sweet toasted maltiness at the start with a very light nuttiness in the middle with a caramel sweetness at the end. Pecan flavor doesn’t really show up as the dominate flavor and tends to taste like a simple brown ale. Density of the beer is moderate and does fit the style well. Overall not a bad beer but just not what it is advertised as on the label.

Pours a light tan head with a light brown body that has ruby highlights. Smells of sweet malt, caramel, pecan, and vomit. Taste is pecan, sweet potato, and caramel.

Poured with a very thin head that dissipated quickly yet it had a nice amber shade. Not a very big nose but there was a hint of caramel. Smooth entry that transitions smoothly to a sweet finish consisting of caramel, dates, vanilla and a pleasant, mild bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some light sweet toffee notes. Taste is dominated by quite rich caramel malt notes with a nice malt presence with no discernable hops presence. I can’t say I really detected any pecans though kudos for trying something different.

Very straightforward. A nice brown ale that finishes the way it starts. Caramel, earthy flavors, and just enough darkness to make it taste like a much higher ABV than it is.
