2009 Bottle - Thanks brentfeesh! - Pours a hazy amber with a large beige head...aroma is fruity and floral, brown sugar and sweet roasted nuts...flavour is similar, sweet roast malt, toast and spice-y candied nut coating...massively carbed, finish is sweet, tasty...

12oz bottle. clear amber-brown pour with a thin light tan head and a ring of retention. nutty aroma with brown sugar, roasted malts and caramel. sweet brown sugar maltiness in the taste with the expected nuts and caramel. thin to medium oily palate. ok - but definitely too sugary for my tastes.

Pours a mostly clear mahogany brown color topped by a small, foamy tan colored head that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows the sweet caramel malt base with hints of brown sugar, and candied nuts. I don’t get too much of the pecan like I was expecting. The flavor follows with the caramel and brown sugar malt to go with some candied sugar and a touch of nuts. Some earthy hops on the finish add a nice bitterness to balance out the sweetness. Medium bodied and fairly smooth and just a touch syrupy with a sweet, dry finish. I didn’ get too much of the pecan like I was hoping, but it was still a nice session brown ale.

Pours a dark brown color. Two-finger head of tan foam. Retention is okay and lacing is minimal. Roasted pecans and toasted malts. Light caramel notes. Mostly, it just smells lightly sweet. Good, solid brown ale, with a nice level of nuttiness. Some hints of pecan flavor and acidity. Light caramel maltiness. Biscuity. Light body. Nice and smooth. This would be a great session beer. Low ABV, which is undetectable, when drinking. Good, smooth and easy to drink.

Pours a clear dark amber mahogany color with pale golden ruby hues when held to a light source and a one finger off-white head that immediately settles into a lasting ring. No lacing. Slightly roasted nutty aroma with a strong caramel malt presence as well as a bunch of pecan and hazelnut. Hints of chocolate and toffee as well as some subtle hops but the aroma is dominated by roasted nutty pecan. Slightly watered down medium body with some soft carbonation up front followed by a roasted malty backbone with a touch of syrupy sweetness and a slightly dry subtle hop finish. Lots of sweet caramel and rye malts but the dominating flavor is roasted nut, especially pecan and hazelnut. Possibly a bit too sweet and syrupy but the roasted nut character provides a nice balance that makes this a pretty drinkable decent session beer.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and pecan nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, nuts, and caramel, leading to a dry, bitter, and nutty finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle: Pours a clear amber color with a very light white head. The nose has a light caramel note with a touch of diacetyl and light nutty sweetness and maple syrup. The flavor has an odd mouthfeel that’s semi-course and a light vanilla and maple note. Finishes on the sweet side with a light nutty caramelized character. Not as nutty as I’d like to see. Hazelnut is probably better.

Pours hazy caramel color with thin tan head. Smells like pecan pie; brown sugar and pecans. Toasted malts, nuts and molasses flavors. Pretty chewy mouthfeel for a brown ale. Medium body with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.
