Glouglouburp (2006), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 25, 2006 Draught at Mascouche Oktoberfest. Slightly cloudy golden body with a large off-white head. Very sweet beer with lots of malt caramel and cereals with some vegetables. Sweet to the point of being sugary. I had it at the Mondial de la Bière 6 months earlier and I remember it being quite different but equally as boring. I talked to the brewer at Mascouche Oktoberfest and he said they would not bottle this one. Thank you. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 Sweet caramel malt aroma with some fruitiness and mild buttery diacetyl. Clear orange copper coloured body is topped by a low white head that recedes to partial cover with scant lace. Caramel malts are strong in the flavour also with a citrus fruitiness that lingers in the aftertaste. Bitterness is very subdued. Strong, prickly, aggressive carbonation demands attention but light and fairly dry body doesn’t offer much. Sampled at Mondial 2006. Nekronos (1949), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 16, 2006 Very malty, better for my taste. Maybe It was too much but the colour is orange alike. Good foam, and not bad at all. Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 10, 2006 Dark amber ale with a thin white head. Hoppy biscuitty malt in aroma. Rather deceiving crisp malt in mouth, biscuitty, not very hopped, and an oily mouthfeel. Medium bodied. On tap, Bieres et Saveurs, Sept. 2 2006. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 27, 2006 Dark clear golden hue with a light carbonation that produces just the slightest white ring. Very grainy nose is almost vegetal. Biscuity nature contrasts with the tartish green grass and parsley nature. Hard to say where this leads from this aroma and the palate offers little answers with this keeping up with a useless tartness and sulfury vegetal, earthy notes. Not really so malty, hard to pick up flavours and even more identify where they’re from. Gentle carbonation, light-medium body. Fair.
