| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2007 A very cloudy, murky dark amber to brown pour that remains covered by a soft off-white head. Surprisingly, we’re facing a rather malt-oriented ale here in which hops don’t play much a role at all. The cerealic malts take most of the aroma’s room, feeling quite wheaty in their soft, refreshing flavour profile. Bready maltiness keeps on all along, supported by minimal herbal bitterness. The yeastiness is so bready that any other flavours which would like to peak up would get obstructed by it. Sweetish palate, foamy mouthfeel. Pleasant, but simple. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Draught. Muddy brown with a creamy off-white head. Sweet malt aroma, cookies, and dough. Apple fruitiness is somewhat hidden behind grainy cookie flavours and bready doughiness.

(Rating #1258) Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Cloudy dirty orangey-brown with a medium off-white head. The plain woody malts feel toasted but not caramelized bringing a basic flavour of toasted bread with nothing on it. Doughy yeast abound. Some herbs. Finish is very short and hops are nowhere to be found. Overall feeling of bread dough. Not bad at all but nothing that stands out either. You know you’re in for a modest little beer when it is labelled Petit Cru. That’s like being invited to a store’s humble opening or meeting the super-hero Average-Man. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Coriander seeds and humble grain sweetness are driven by the doughy Belgian yeast of this straightforward and drinkable Belgian Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions
-A compact head of foam crowns the misty dark orange.
-Hop presence is minimal.
-Maltiness takes on a cookie-like character at times.
-I would have preferred a crisper version of this myself, but it remains efficient in what it is trying to accomplish.
