Lubiere (3266), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 A light amber ale with a lacing creamy white head. A grassy herbal pale ale, pungent, lightly hoppy. In mouth, a classy ale reminiscent of British pubs, with lightly herbaceous green hops. Very successful. On tap at brewpub, August 3, 2008.
MartinT (4345), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 19, 2008 My Bottom Line:
This English-style Pale Ale employs honeyed biscuity malts to offset leafy, earthy hops, as discreet diacetyl dons a caramelly mask throughout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam lines the clear pale orange.
-The use of traditional English ingredients is obvious here; only thing left to do is put it on cask (and the brewer will surely do it soon).
-That inherent touch of diacetyl is well levelled, but might bother those very sensitive to it.
-The hops are nicely bitter, even adding peppery notes.
On tap at the brewpub.
