Vanilla, coffee and chocolate taste, lack of body. Pyrozoid (254), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Dec 9, 2008 Bouteille 500 ml.
Aroma is loaded with chocolate, hazelnut, coffe, brownies, and a touch of burnt malt. The flavour is very much the same, this is like a liquified brownie! Wow..........such a nice treat for a desert beer. GregClow (2395), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 21, 2008 Bottle from trip to Montreal. Dark brown-black with a good sized dark tan head. Very nice aroma of hazelnut and cocoa - like a Ferrero Rocher! - with some toasted/burnt malt notes around the edge. Body is a bit thin. Flavour starts with the same hazelnut & cocoa as the aroma, but the burnt notes come through a bit too heavily in the finish, along with a bit of sourness which may or may not be intentional. Still, a pretty nice beer, and easily the best of all Grimoire mixed pack I picked up in Montreal. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 9, 2008 Dark with quick fading tan head. Aroma is sour and burnt as is the flavour with a touch of wood. Sourness is offputting.
