yngwie (3529), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 28, 2008 Bottle, 75cl. A slightly unclear, brown beer with a beige head. Dried fruits, sugar and some caramel in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweet, with dried fruits, caramel, a yeasty, cellary touch, a hint of spices, and maybe a little alcohol. Medium body with good carbonation. Nice bitterness all the way. A really pleasant brune, pinning it’s Belgian inspiration nicely. (080811) Beer_2000 (1198), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 24, 2008 750ml bottle. Hazy reddish brown body with a nice beige head. Aroma is sweet malt, spicy, caramel, dry fruit and yeast. Complex and very promising aroma. Flavor lives up to the expectations, sweet (very Belgium), spicy , brown sugar, caramel, esters and this wonderful little touch of sourness/cellar notes. Fine malty body, and perfect balance between sweet, sour, bitterness and alcohol. Totally awesome! Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 4, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very spicy on a back ground of sweet malt. The flavor is sweet matly with notes of caramel and spices among them cinnamon, leading to a dry spicy finish. argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA May 17, 2008 (Savor, 750ml bottle) Tan head atop clear mahogany body. Aroma is medium sweet, raisin, caramel, some spice, brown sugar, light orange. Taste is moderately sweet, raisin, some caramel, plum, brown sugar. Medium body, low carbonation. acrdz (4302), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 17, 2008 Bottle sample pours a dark muddy brown with a medium to dark speckled tan head. Nose is sweet spice and Belgian yeast esters - banana, some alcohol, some candy sugar, black pepper, etc. Flavor is chewy thick banana bread and candy sugar, the sweetness somewhat muted by thick bread-like malt body, and while it’s nice overall, and has a nice, distinctive Belgian yeast character, it’s a little too sweet.
