Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

(Draught) Sampled at Taphouse in Seattle. A rather expensive sampler at $9.95 for four 4-ounce samples. Pours a small, creamy head with a mahogany body. Nose of wheat and cocoa. Flavours of chocolate malt, wheat and caramel with minor spice in the finish.

GABF 2007: Poured a hazy brown color with a medium off-white head. The aroma had chocolate and wheaty citrus notes. Also some notes of toffee and toasted malt. The flavor was wheaty, toasty and roasty.. Dry finish.

On tap at the Taphouse. Hazy brown with minimal head. Undercarbonated but that could be from the tap? Sweet and malty with a slight banana chocalte flavour. Finishes smooth.

Used to get this in a Party Pig from the Leavenworth Brewery. Have not had in while, but to this day it remains my favorite. Beautiful creamy head with a zesty start and a smooth finish. Great anytime!

Seventh stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Olympia, Washington. Sampled on tap at the Fish Tale brewpub. Pours a hazy dark caramel brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of multi-grain with more wheat character with a touch of citrusy hops. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a sweet wheat flavor. Finish is smooth, creamy with a very light bitter aftertaste.
