Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

Draught, The Taphouse, Bellevue
Dark brown colour, slighty hazy. Lightly malty flavour with chocolate accents. Clean maltiness. Pretty good dunkel, not sure where the weizen is.

Murky dark brown and burgundy. Crisp toasty bread and tortilla chip flavor: coarse body, almost gritty with burnt wood and burnt toast flavors. Good stuff, but a roasty, smooth texture.

Thick hazy auburn/brown with off-white head & some lacing. The aroma is nutty, roasty with a nice bite of hops & metallic caramel. The flavor has a balanced wheat & roast with a yeasty full body & fizzy mouthfeel. Finishes balanced, good but simple.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours very dark amber with not much of a head. Smells bready. Near medium body with mild, frothy carbonation. Flavor is kind of chocolate over darkly roasted malt - not burnt though. Hasn’t got much malt sweetness. Clean. Finishes with chocolate.

GABF 2007: Poured a hazy brown color with a medium off-white head. The aroma had chocolate and wheaty citrus notes. Also some notes of toffee and toasted malt. The flavor was wheaty, toasty and roasty.. Dry finish.

Seventh stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Olympia, Washington. Sampled on tap at the Fish Tale brewpub. Pours a hazy dark caramel brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of multi-grain with more wheat character with a touch of citrusy hops. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a sweet wheat flavor. Finish is smooth, creamy with a very light bitter aftertaste.
