Have not had in while, but to this day it remains my favorite. Beautiful creamy head with a zesty start and a smooth finish. Great anytime! arhythmt (69), USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 28, 2004 Perhaps this beer has declined in quality over the past few years, but when I first tried it in 2000 or so I was bowled over. Grayish/brownish body with a lighter, heavy, tall head. Smooth, unfiltered flavor with some yeast but much more flavorful and roasty than a hefeweizen (of course). apost8n8 (123), Oklahoma, USA

Wow, creamy and sweet like a hef but ful of robust chocolate, roasted malt, caramel flavors. Very filling like an oatmeal stout but easy to drink. truegen (165), Puyallup, Washington, USA

When actually brewed in Leavenworth, this was one of my least favorites of the lineup, but the Fish crew has steadily improved this brew, and it’s now among my favorites. Muddy chocolate color, roasty malts and the banana/clove wheat notes combine to make this a wonderful session beer. However, keep your gear clean for this one, publicans --it doesn’t tolerate mishandling well. beerguy101 (3972), Newark, California, USA

Aroma is malt and grain, with some roasty malts and chocolate. A medium to light bodied dunkel. Malts are fruity and sweet, a touch roasty with a hint of chocolate. Some grain and grass. Hop are slightly spicy and a touch floral. Nice balance. Light and refreshing, with just the right amount of chocolate malt flavors. Crisp and clean. An excellent session beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some chocolate. BrewDad (2393), Olympia, Washington, USA
