BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Nov 6, 2009 Tap @ Front Door: Clear amber color with a light head. The nose is lightly caramelly with lots of diacetyl and subtle molasses. The flavor has a tinge of hops and nutty character; a creamy body and very mellow impact. Still tons of diacetyl though as you drink it. I like how creamy and smooth it is but past that, there’s nothing to look at. Double bagger? douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Nov 2, 2009 12 ounce bottle thanks to BrewDad. Pours a bright copper color with a thick foamy head, drank at cellar temperature. The aroma is malty; some sweet nutty- almost glue like- notes. A sweet flavor, honey, toasted malts, light citrus hops. Pretty quaffable and nice. cmonster (73), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 1, 2009 12 oz. bottle served in an English pint. Dark amber in color. Short off-white head. Malty, caramel aroma. Some bread. Flavor is malty. Medium body. Little carbonation. I’d take this over AK Amber, but this doesn’t come close to Uerige. carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 1, 2009 Aromas similar to an amber ale start, with caramel. Upon pour they flatten out into a copperish grain meld. Body is clear and hue an appropriately copperish color. Nose settles into more caramel and some cocoa as well. Taste was lightly sweet and it has a thin body. Touch of bitter at the end which doesn’t fit the whole package. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 11, 2009 Bottle poured a clear brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of earthiness, burnt carmel and light cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of earthiness, toasted malt, light carmel and a hint of cocoa with a crisp lingering malty finish. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Sep 15, 2009 Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours a dark reddish amber with a slight white head. Aromas of spice and malt. This is an alt? Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is firm brown malt with minimal hop. A little bready/nutty. Some grassy hop bitter in the finish. On reflection, it is an alt. Just forgot those can be tasty. Which this is. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Aug 27, 2009 Brilliant amber color with a fleeting white head. Spicy caramel aromas. Medium body. Decent spicy, toasted caramel flavors. Nicely bitter finish. Reid (1085), Salem, Oregon, USA Jul 17, 2009 Dark amber coloured beer, with a very nice thick, creamy off white head.
Nice aromas of corn/oat/cereal a wee bit of toast.
Semis sweet creamy malty taste, at first then dissapates and becomes a tad more bitter,nutty..hazel nuts.
Realativly thin mouthfeel about it, but does have its moments.
A nice simple beer, OK.
