Commercial Description:
Friesian Pilsener is a pale golden colored lager, brewed to quench the summer thirst of the many worthy denizens of the Great Pacific Northwest. This Pilsener is medium bodied, brewed with a truly authentic Pilsener malt and a large percentage of Munich malt to create a beer with the classic German Pilsener character. In the traditional method, we have brewed this Leavenworth Beer with imported German and Czech hops for a crisp, assertive hop bitterness and aroma.

Draft at the Lynnwood Rock. Pours sparkling gold with a thin white film on top and on the sides of the glass. Absolutely vacant nose. Watery body, soft carb. Light grassy, herbal nose on the mid-palate and finish.

Seventh stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Olympia, Washington. Sampled on tap at the Fish Tale brewpub. Pours a clear golden pale yellow brew with a lumpy white head with good retention. Aroma of light bread-like malt, soem grassy hops and a touch of peppery spice. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with a light bread malt flavor. Finish is slightly watery with an average bitter aftertaste.

Grainy, corn-like aroma, slightly sour. Kepps a solid head, appearance is dead on for this style. Unfortunately, flavor is a bit too musty and earthy, possible oxidization.

On tap at the pub. Clear gold in color with a fluffy white head and sticky lacing. Sweet malt nose and flavor that is very balanced. Light body. Smooth and creamy. Good beer.

Tap @ Anthony’s in SeaTac airport. Golden not yellow. Good medium body with plenty of malt & hops. Tasted a bit stale to me though. Better than I thought it would be. Wouldn’t hesitate to try again.
