For such a hoppy/citrus tasting beer....I’m not a huge fan. It’s decent, but the hops just don’t come through the way I like. billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA

Clear golden w o.w. head. Nice aroma of PNW fresh resinous floral hops, light caramel malt, fruit & apples. Flavor was the same, moderately sweet with a nice blend into the hop bitterness. Reminded me of pliney the younger flavorwise but much thinned down. Into medium bodied. Will have to try again before the stout. 10/20/06. Had this again (on tap not cask) and thought it was rather starchy tasting in the malt dept. A noticable sourness was present. I suspect it was from a keg tapped weeks ago. Pours a copper orange-brown, with a reasonable head and a moderate sour-citrus aroma.
This one has a curious flavor; you get lots of piney hops, but with them, you get a complement of candy sugar (dissolved, not part of the oily rich hops as it would be in a sweet IIPA) and a hint of bubblegum. The beer opours slightly overcarbonated on the palate, and somewhat metallic on the finish. It’s not bad, pe se, but it’s not scoring highly among the other IPA fest competitors. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Has some herbal fruitiness going on and I to picked up on a bit of a tea like flavor. Perhaps even some cardammon spiciness. Body is somewhat light, but very fruity, a solid session IPA frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 12, 2005 GCBF. Pours a golden colour with some suspended sediment. Some herbal aromas, almost tealike. The herbal aromas aren’t translating very well in this. It should be noted that my sample was quite warm. Oakes (8115), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Hazy beige colour. Peachy, grapefruity and bitter. Lean body really highlights the grapefruit and is accented by light pale malt notes. Simple, but my kind of IPA. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2005 (Draft: Fishbowl Brewpub in Olympia, WA) A fruity and strongly hoppy IPA with a generic, moderately sweet pale malt base that allows the bitter, cirtusy hops to run wild and dominate this brew. For as hoppy as this beer tastes, the hops are very light in the nose. It’s actually a very balanced nose, but only mildly aromatic. Medium bodied, clean throughout, with a crisp, long-lasting finish. Dark golden color, somewhat orange tinted, quite cloudy in appearance. The off-white head settles to a film, but leaves a fairly dense curtain of lace on the glass. Solid IPA, real good for hopheads. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe during HopFest 2005: Slightly hazy golden, a tad dirty, moderate white head, decent lacing, almost zero carbonation.   Slightly plastic oriented hop nose.   WHOA, very strong band-aid on the tongue, with an underlying bitterness that is otherwise quite nice.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Lingering plastic notes on the finish... This is worth a re-rate cuz I don’t believe this is what was intended.
