Apr 5, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. This beer is most certainly not retired, as the keg they were tapped from this afternoon was most definitely not aged. Crystal clear dark amber with very little gray rim. Slightly floral, maybe berry-like nose. Medium body, lively carb. Biscuity, toasty mid-palate. Nice resiny finish.

Mar 24, 2005 On tap at the Sunnyside Mcmenamins as a guest tap. This esb was very smokey, really clashed against the hops and light fruity malts up front. Pours a darker copper with a fast falling off-white head. I’m just not a fan of the smoked flavor in this brew.

Aug 15, 2004 Red with a solid white head. Very smooth and creamy until a woody charred flavor emerges, cherries and burnt wood in the finish. Quite good.

Jan 5, 2003 amber with nice off white head.Decent but light hop and carmel nose and flavor.

Feb 11, 2002 Perfect amber pint with the perfect head as well. Typical ESB bittermess and a boilerplate version of the style, but inferior to other Pacific NW ESB’s, such as Redhook.
