This beer could be called Dry Mouth Ale. The hops make your whole face pucker up, unfortunately. While it tastes delicious, it leaves you feeling like you ate a handful of sand. The Blind Pig Dunkel is a much better beer. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA

Similar to Mack & Jack’s African Amber. Cloudy with a rich thick head that lasts forever. Abundant hop and malt flavor with a slightly dry finish. bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA

A big shot of fruit in the nose, along with some bready malt. Medium body and moderate carbonation. More fruit in the taste, along with some nuts and flowery/herbal hops. There seems to be a lot going on in this beer, and it’s almost chewy by comparison to the other Oktoberfest beers I’ve tried. morebier4me (140), New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2008 Tap... Poured a rust tone with a thick, off-white head. Aroma was mellow and floral with some malt. Flavorful and fresh with leafy, sweet hops and buttery barley-malt grains. Finished sweet with candy-like notes. Similar to Mac and Jacks African Amber, but a bit lighter. Re-rated: 10-3-09. Toasty maltiness, but a bit lacking otherwise. Ok. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Poured an orange-amber-bronzed color/ Small off-white head. Gummy floral notes coupled with malty sweetness. Caramel/toffee in the scent was characteristic of PNW meets Bavarian stylistic. Boo yah!
