Bottle from ogglethorp - cloudy golden, with quite a pillowy head - VERY JP aroma - touches of brett funk and loads of lemon zest, along with some light orange peel and barely detectable spices - the flavor and finish are dominated by sourness, so much so that the original qualitites of the beer, if they were there to begin with, don’t get picked up by the palate at all - no citrus of spices, just sourness - I love JP, and I love sour beer, but I need complexity to go along with it, and this just doesn’t have that.

Bottle shared at the Columbus Tasting V: Pale yellow pour with a white head. Aroma of lemon zest, funk, bret, sour and yeast. The flavor was composed of some funk, sour notes, lemon/lemon zest and a some yeast. Light mouthfeel, lively carbonation with a dry/sour finish. Pretty damn nice.

Bottle courtesy of northerntimber. Pours a beautiful cloudy amber/yellow with a well maintained fluffy white head. Smells of perfumy flowers, dough, coriander, oranges, lemons and lots of untamed wild character. None of the oak comes through on the nose. As the beer warms, some soapy qualities begin to emerge. Taste is of lemons with an underlying sourness. Again, no oak, but lots of interesting perfumy qualities. Some coriander is present but not overwhelming. Some peppery splashes and lemon are present on the mouthfeel. Finish is lightly sour and very quaffable. Well done!

Bottle from ogglethorp, Thanks! Nose of tart, spicy, fruity, horse blanket! Hazy gold with a big glassing-lacing, slow recedeing white head; Flavor is spicy and tart, yeasty and wheaty! Very enjoyable. Seems exceptionally well balanced and I like it as well or better than any of the others I’ve had, brewed by JP! Underrated!

Hazy straw, thin foamy white head. Screams Jolly Pumpkin from the get go. Nose is full of sharp lemony oak tones, juicy citric notes, funk, and just a slight hint of pear. Flavor is similar with funky lemon, touches of spice, underlying wood notes, and a decent orange peel bitterness rounding it out. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, soft bitter finish. I might be in the minority here, but I freakin loved this brew. Thanks Hopscotch!

Sample provided by hopscotch. Very cloudy, very pale body iwth small off-white head. The aroma is horse blanket, lactic, lemon, cobwebs and floral. The flavor is lactic, lemon, corriander and musty, fairly dry. Light body with lively carbonation.

750mL bottle, courtesy of hopscotch. Thanks, Eric! Pours a cloudy yellow appearance; fluffy white head with good retention and lacing. Sour brett and citrus aroma; definitely shows a JP character; tart and mouthwatering. Tasty, belgian white background; well-balanced brett and citrus hops; some coriander and orange peel. Medium, tart and citrus finish.
