Rich reddy brown, beige head. Beautiful sweet melange - some slight high sour note, a cascade of sweeter tones such as dark fruits, and a good gravelly malty base (bass?) And that’s just the aroma. Pleasantly carbonated, tingles the tongue a bit, but otherwise very smooth. Slightly alcoholic taste, and some tangy spices, but a good fat dark brown roasted malt body. As said below, sweet but not sticky or sickly. Hops quite prominent as part of the spicy side. Finish is roasted malts, a hint of coffee perhaps, and some spiky hops.

Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. Murky brown colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel. Flavour is sweet and dry roasted malts, some chocolate, a hint of dark fruits. Slightly dry finish. A very nice dubbel.

Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Large beige creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Dark cola like color. (it was compared with a cola). Aroma was quit lovely with notes of fruit, caramelized, yeast, hint of sweet liquorish, mild toasted malt and what could appear as sweet chocolate. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor. Lingering sweet fruity caramelized finish.

Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Sweet malt, nice touch of alcohol and liquor. Small brown fizzy head, fast and fully diminishing. Nearly black body. Light sweet start, light bitter end, light finish. Dry body, lively carbonation, medium body.
