| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a very dark brown beer with creamy, surprisingly lightly tanned head. Sour nose with hints of wood, soy sauce, caramel and crackers accompanied by seawater. Sour taste with musty components showing up. Extremely beautiful lacing. Excellent appearance. Candy, crackers, figs and mushrooms appearing. Low bitterness. Woody. Slight hint of soy sauce. Woody finish. Not worth purchasing again. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Reddy brown, decent but brief tan head. Strange savoury aroma, asparagas perhaps, at first? Spices reside deeper, and only later did the quite powerful banana component take over as the main aroma. Quite lively in the mouth, but still pleasantly smooth. Over-ripe banana is the first punchy taste, but the savoury side takes over quickly and it’s a pile of roasy grains and a final big hoppy bite. Covers the alcohol very well until briefly after swallowing, when there’s a lovely fruity waft in the mouth that rises up the nose. nuplastikk (1225), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Deep, rich, and malty with a significant spice. Mellow brown candi sugar, anise, and orange peel all come across in the aroma as well as the taste. Smooth and creamy, a little dryness intertwined with the warming of the alcohol. Excellent beer. stefanje (951), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2008 11 oz bottle courtesy of unclemike. Pours a dark brown color with a large sudsy khaki head and plenty of lacing. The aroma is musty with sweet dark fruits, candy sugar and a hint of alcohol. The flavor shows a bit of cola, dates, prunes and a theres that touch of alcohol again. The mouthfeel was a bit thin with the carbonation quickly dissipating and leaving this concoction mostly flat after ten minutes in the glass. The finish was long and dry. Overall: Not my favorite Belgian strong.
