Boom! a great shoot in mouth!!! Excelent look, the head is amazing, the aroma is deep, in mouth the coffee and the dark fruit is great, the finish is dry but gentile. Another GREAt Belgian beer!

Bottle at Cafe Erasmus in Brugge. Deep dark aromas of fruit, dark malt, and a touch of coffee. Very dark brown color with a huge lacing tan head. Flavor is dark fruit; dark malt and hop. This is slightly sweet, but finishes rather smooth and dry, with a hint of prune.

Dark brown to black with super foamy top. Lovely yeasty aroma with sour notes and farmhouse qualities with piquant pepperiness and some dashes of orange and uric acid rounding it out. Farmhouse flavor with sour, uric notes and a strong yeasty backbone of flavor. Quite complex. Reminds me vaguely of some of Fantome’s offerings. Perhaps some interesting star-anise in the mix.

Cola colored pour, nice tannish head, firm lacing. Nose is nice dark fruit, rye crust and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is lightly tart, deep sugars, mild hint of the orange and anise as it warms. There is a mild boozy component that works well with the other flavors. Good stuff, though the spicing is a bit unusual.

Sweet fruitiness in the aroma. Some malt and yeast notes come through as well. Dark cola colored. The start is very sweet and fruity with some orange notes and some spices come through in the finish. Well rounded but not much orange is apparent, which could be good or bad depending on what you prefer.

Bottled(750ml). -from some Match in Budapest.
Reddish/dark brown coloured, big stable tan head, fruity alcoholic nose. The taste is also very malty and pleasant fruity with notes of dried fruits, chocolate and spices. Mild alcoholic notes in the pleasant fruity finish. Very good Floreffe.

Bottle @ Ølbaren. Large creamy off-white head that was quit nice and really lasted. Good display of lacework. Dark mahogany like color. Aroma of chocolate, date and mix of dried fruit, mild toasted malt, lots of fruity notes, mild yeast, brown sugar, pears and maybe even a hint of smoke. Excellent complexity in this Belgian Strong. Full bodied with an average carbonation and thick smooth texture. Moderated sweet flavor with mild bitterness. Lingering dried fruity smooth finish. What a surprise.

Big bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!)
Post Tuborg Lemon Melior. Heh. Poured a huge, extremely persistant and stable caffe latteish pale tan head and a dark, almost black reddish colour. Impressive. The nose is strong... dark malts, raisins, some coffee and fruitiness. All in all, respectable. The taste is more of the same. A nice, somewhat coffeeish earthy roastiness surrounding a very pleasant, fine fruty sweetness... some fruit I cannot think off. Apples I guess. A bit estery. Sweet aftertaste. All in all I really liked this one. Seen the Floreffe beers in a few stores in Budapest (Ogi got the bottle in one) and I thought that 1200-1300 Forints is a bit too much for a bottle. I was quite possibly wrong.
