Pours a dark brown with a big head of brownish bubbles. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, pit fruit and anise. Taste is very sweet, a little syrupy, just barley thinned by the dry orange peel and anise. Alcohol could also be higher to cut it (8% is not really that strong for this style). Not one of my favorite Belgiums. Very average, and too sweet. aenimopiate (146), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA

Although it is not quite as good as the aforementioned chimay, it is quite good. Get it and try it out for yourself. moelikebeer (220), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Beautiful, slowly diminishing light brown head. Dark red-brown body. Sweet, fruity, spicy, liqourice, little metallic, with a bitter finish. A "powerful" beer to finish of a long session (you will still be able to taste it!?!).

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2008 NIce, tight, foamy, bubbly cream-coloured head, with smallish bubbles, which keep up nicely until you begin to drink. Deep, dark colour with a red glow at the edges when held up to the light. Mild yet fresh aroma. I couldn’t detect a great amount of the flavours advertised on the bottle (star anize, orange peel, coriander), only slightly in the aftertaste. Somewhat bitter, but not overly. Moderately dry.
