Bottle at home. A really amazing ale. Burgundy color. Thick, syrupy with tastes of licorice, oatmeal, berries. Incredibly smooth, with alcohol content totally hidden. Perhaps too sweet?

Drank in a trappist glass. Nice caramel colored body. Aromas of brown sugar, black berries, plums, nutty sweet caramel. Flavors of sweet plum, caramel. You can slightly feel the alcohol. Creamy palate. The best of the floreffe series!

Bottled (BB 04/2008). Very dark ruby color, huge cloudy tan head. Aroma of berries and licorice. Medium to full bodied. Licorice dominates the flavour, but there is also some sweeter berry-like notes. Aftertaste is a bit salty, alcohol and bitterness rise there too. Some way similar to Het Anker products. One step forward from the middle-of-the road brunes of Belgia.

[Bottle] Dark redish brown with large head. Sweet, malty liquorice aroma with notes of herbs and tobacco. Flavour is herbs and roasted malt. Tastes like cough drops or maybe Jägermeister.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 30 Sep) Dark brown colour with ruby notes, beige head. Malty, sweetish nose with dark fruit. Malty, sweet taste with caramel, syrup, molasses, vanilla and some well balanced spicy hops coming through in the finish. (Dr Pepper was the word I was looking for, thanks bu11zeye.) Balanced, not very complex, a bit too sweet, but enjoyable.
