| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a super huge off-white foamy head with perfect retention. Aroma of sweet malt with some light spices (which may include some pepper and some anis). Taste is quite sweet probably from the candi sugar with some spices. Hops are clearly quite subtle and even the yeast is subdued (I would have preferred if it could have brought more character to this beer. Body is above average but could be a bit more full. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, a very good Belgian ale and probably one of the finest product from this brewer. Quinten (969), zaandam, Netherlands

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Updated: Jun 20, 2007330ml bottle. Deep Mahogany with a little creamy light brown head. Very fruity, mainly prunes but also some grapes and other dark fruits. The lively carbonation, the liquorice-like spices and the mild acidity give it a tickling mouthfeel. Short finish with mild bitterness. Not sure why but I used to like it a lot more a year ago. Still I have to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s… and lucky me, my case of Prima Melior is not Caesar’s.
