Deep copper amber color with a frothy and well-lacing light tan head. Aroma is packed with rich, sweet, bready, caramel Belgian malts and a good yeasty presence along with a touch of light fruits. Body starts with some thickening, small-bubbled carbonation that masks the flavors for a bit before some earthy caramel settles on the tongue bringing sticky sweet and some light, semi-tart fruit notes. Has some nice subtle complexities and unique flavor. An enjoyable Belgian brew. Thanks Rastacouere!

Sample from 330 ml bottle at the Mondial. Dark, thick roiling molasses in the glass with a lasting caramel-tinted white head...licorice, brown sugar and cinnamon notes abound in the dessert-spicy nose...very sweet, full and thick body, like a spiced dubbel, with successive gouts of sweet and sour cherries, caramel, and candied orange...tingly, moderate carbonation, very full mouthfeel and rather doughy (can’t imagine drinking a 750 of this)...a bit too effervescent at the end if anything, but lovely overall.

Dark brown body with reddish glints and a thick beige foamy head. Malty aroma with notes of plum, brown sugar and yeast. Taste is nicely balanced, but I was expecting something a bit more robust. Various hints of fruits (raisin, dark cherries), roasted malt, brown sugar and chocolate. Leaves a lovely warming aftertaste. Without playing in the same league as the Rochefort 8, this is a very good Belgian Strong Ale.

A Mes rate: Totally new to me but I really like this one. Black and opaque with a thick pillowy head. Metal, yeast, caramel, vanilla and liquorice nose, which personally I didn’t think was that great but the best is yet to come. Chunky and velvet mouthfeel that is almost like milkshake. Flavour is very good indeed if a touch one dimensional. Sounds like a contradiction doesn’t it? Well that is about right for this one... Long finish with a touch of almonds and nuts and a slight alcohol punch. Drink it fast though as it turns nasty very quickly.

Dark reddish brown with enormous, foamy tan head. Different herby, fruity (peaches?), malty aroma. Quite a highly carbonated medium mouthfeel. Chocolatey taste, with plums, malt and caramel. Very well hid alcohol. Well balanced and very drinkable. Good stuff.

beautiful brown/bitofredbeer with an irregular biege head. aroma of sweet fruits (dark fruit), yeast and caramel. taste: metalish, raisins, plums, pineapple?, sweetish. finish: spicy, fruity, bit bitter. mf is silky and full. not too much co2, good balance, Etoh is present. liked it very much!! 2 bottles(750) in the cellar, yeah.

(Bottle: 33 cl) Clear, quite dark with a distinguished reddish tone. Head is huge, generous, creamy and quite sturdy. Extremely aromatic and spicy. Hints of chocolate and a discreet sweetness which is balanced by a ditto discreet bitterness. Hints of coffee. 120103

Bottle. Very perfumy malty tequila aroma. Dark brown colour, small head. Roasted, brown sugar flavour. Quite peppery, perfumy flavour. Seems there is too much perfume in this beer for me.
