Aroma is of anise and spices. Flavor is quite sweet - lots of malty sweetness and some dried fruit. The label mentioned anise, which is certainly present! Finishes nicely. A good beer. There are better ones out there, but there are MANY more worse out there as well! JanVittrup (150), København V, Denmark

Poured clear dark brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and caramel aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation.
Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
This is a drinkable sweet beer. jkwalking05 (1485), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Dark reddish brown in color with a pretty decent head. Aromas have strong fruit and spiced smells. That continues into the flavors and contributes to a nice taste. Sweet finish with a pleasant amount of alcohol warmth.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2009 This opaque brown ale poured with an attractive fluffy brown head and a fruity aroma. There is a sweet caramel malt flavor that fades to bitter as the spices take over. There is a dry finish with some carbonation and alcohol warming.
