Bready, lightly honeyed cereals and spicy, minty hops coexist peacefully in this balanced and quite effervescent Houblon Chouffe cousin.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam settles and bobs atop the cloudy straw blond.
-The finish offers the levelled bitterness of spicy and leafy hops.
-Citrusy fruitiness roams within, as do subtle yeasty phenols.
-A menthol quality seems to emerge from the hops and the yeast.
-This is a decent attempt at a Belgian IPA; a milder Houblon Chouffe, perhaps.

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 28, 2009 This beer pours a golden yellow with a large white head leaving good lacing down the sides (I actually poured this into a half yard glass though). initial aromas are skunky, clove, and a little leather. Not a very enticing aroma. The sip confirms the aroma. The taste is light, slightly bitter and not that good. Not a very good beer in my opinion. blutt59 (2105), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours with massive pristine white head initially, fading to a more manageable and attractive layer atop the attractively honey coloured liquid. Perfumed hops to the nose, not atypical of your typical IPA, with malty notes. Not quite as sharp on the palate as your more customary IPA, and quite pleasant with it. A decent ale. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2009 (Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm) Golden colour with huge, lasting, white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, pears, grapefruit and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, grass and generous doses of spicy hops in the finish. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Nice, warming and tasty beer with a fresh hop character.
