skoisirius (480), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bob...who I don’t believe is on RateBeer. Pours a lighter golden color with little head. Candied nose, lots of malt. Flavor is very sweet...almost bananay, with lots of Belgian sugars...sweet tooth BOMB! Hints of fruits beyond bananas exist...but over all, it’s fairly one dimensional. Stoked to try this rarity to the US though!
JonnyDr (112), , South Yorkshire, England Sep 28, 2008 Updated: Oct 4, 2008Lovely dark amber appearance. Ideal medium lasting head. Honey and smoky bacon aroma. Strong caramel/smoky start leading to an alcohol/honey aftertaste. Reminds me of English pubs pre smoking ban. Not too complex - would rather go for Grimbergen ’La Reserve’. Good strong beer nonetheless. donfardz64 (116), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 24, 2008 Pours deep amber, white mostly diminishing head. Candy caramel nose, very sweet smelling. Sweet tasting too, some malt and yeast there but really no distinct flavours to speak of. TEJA (144), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 23, 2008 Thinn foam over a coppe-amber ale. Nice belgian aroma. Much sparkling mothfeel. Big malty taste with a well balanced bitterness. Nnudd (35), , Denmark Sep 7, 2008 Aroma of malt, suger and alchol. Small white head that do not lasts for so long, sticks to the sides af the glass. Amber and clear in the glass. Typical Leffe taste, sweet and drinkable, but also some alchol in the finish.
