Commercial Description:
Filtered.
Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Bottle--Old rating--High quality stuff that doesn’t have any outstanding characterists. It has afoamy head, decent lacing, banana aroma and a taste that is sweet and a bit tangy.

330ml bottle in Leffe chalice. Pours a beautiful deep gold body with sizeable dense white head leaving thick lace. Aroma is banana, pear, lemon pepper, and clove with some golden syrup sweetness. Mouthfilling body, rich, creamy, slightest bit lactic, moderate carbonation, dries out quickly. Sweet caramel malt body with plenty of candy banana upfront, clove and nutmeg spice manifest themselves along with citrus and bread on a drawn out drying finish. Excellently balanced; complex without being overpowering, strong and rich without being boozy or too dense. A sessionable Belgian that I wish were more common place here downunder!

Tap serving. I had this on tap at Croxley Ales last night and found the blond ale to be superb. I supervised the pouring and noted the tilt the bartender used as the golden ale flowed like pancake batter. The sweet aromas were very present as I went for the first taste. Being very pleased with the first taste, more followed and I couldn’t seem to put it down until it was empty. After another round... to verify, of course...I found this to great with wings.

Really not a nice beer at all, over complicated flavours of caramel, toffee, spices and fruit. It is even worse in a bottle, it often can be 75% foam. It really is a bit dodgy this one. The fact that it can be virtually foam for the entire bottles means i wont be risking this 1 again. Sorry Leffe fans!

Pours brilliant clear golden with large white head which recedes quickly leaving lacing behind. Spicy aroma, like cloves. Full bodied, well balanced, dry finish.
