Commercial Description:
Filtered.
Uses Vieux Temps yeast which gives the clove-like flavour.
"Leffe Blond is a pale abbey beer, with a full, sunny, golden colour. It has a smooth and full bodied taste and a rich creamy head. Like all the Leffe beers, it is a ’connoisseur’ beer that is easy to drink."

Bottle-case. Picked up a case of Leffe to try out a moderately priced Belgian, ha well $37 cash- Poured a Yellow "Blonde" straw with pretty nice foam head, some lacing. Some spicy flavor, mixture of hops and yeast with a tinge of bitterness. I would say a good drinker, crisp and clear. Was not cold enough for my taste so will try it again at a lower temp.

Clear golden pour with a huge white head and lots of carbonation. Sweet and fruity aroma with lots of yeast. There was also a vague unpleasant skunkiness in the aroma. Maybe it was just a bad bottle, but luckily that skunkiness wasn’t present in the taste. Very sweet flavor, though I enjoyed it. Fruity and balanced.

This was the beer that opened the door to the world of beers to me. And now, what have they done to it? Kind of an attempt to make an abbey mass market beer. Poured in a Leffe glass, big clean whit head with lace. Golden too clean colour for an unfiltered beer. Smell of banana, clove, coriander, honey, spices. Too sweet flavor, taste of banana, clove, some pepper, fruits. Good one, but give it to me anytime as it used to be...

[on tap at the Oakford Social Club, Reading] Hilary said this smelled of honey roast ham, and the powers of autosuggestion soon picked up on it and made me think it taste of that too. After trying to clear my mind and mouth of that, I picked up lemon, orange, grassy notes and a hint of coriander leaf. Definitely more than a hint of the great Leffe Tripel in here, but rather in the manner of a poor imitation - many of the flavours were there, but very poorly balanced. And I think Hilary was right - by the end I was still picking up honey and the odd wisp of woodsmoke. Odd, but smoother and easier to swig (dangerously so) than many abbey beers (possibly the relatively light carbonaion helped!)

Poura a clear gold with a foamy white head that lasts a while. Spicy aroma of hops. Sweet slightly fruity malt flavor. A little bitterness on the finish. Not bad at all considering the price.

Bottle, pavement cafe, Cannes. Connoisseur beer? ! Yeah, right.... For people who think they’re getting something cutting edge, but really this is the Fosters of Belgian beers...Well maybe not quite that disgusting. Its just about drinkable , but has a sweet, sickly flavour and is best avoided.
