BeerEssential (91), Massachusetts, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours an almost clear amber that shines golden when struck by light. Starts off with a generous head, but it fizzles away and left little lacing. Scent was along the lines of many other Belgian brews - slightly floral, sweet, fruity and malty. Taste is somewhat sweet (gets sweeter and rum-ier as it warms up) with an effervescent bite. Bought this at the local grocery store, where the only other Belgian beer was Hoegaarden.
gumby562 (4), , Texas, USA does not count Oct 13, 2008 very close to the real thing, and the best non-trappist abbey style ale so far... Complex taste,,,, bananas, and citrus with honey and a medium hops and malt blend. Beth101 (128), West Yorkshire, England Oct 13, 2008 Sweet flowery hops with a hint of honey. Looks fizzy with a nice sized white head. Light caramel colour. Doen’t taste as fizzy as it looks it is sweet with a taste of alcohol. Cybercat (424), Georgia, USA Oct 12, 2008 Comes out of the tap a nice clear golden color, with a decent head. Aroma is strong and malty and has a decided lemony overtone. Flavor is malty and strongly of citrus, mainly lemon and nicely tart. Texture is smooth, and finish is refreshing and satisfying. patricks110 (176), Alberta, Canada Oct 12, 2008 Bottle from Bottlescrew Bills, Calgary, AB. An aroma of fruity malts and strong yeast flavour. Taste is unbelievable and complex. Overall, another great Belgian Ale from a reputable brewery. Will drink again. Kiwi_Jonno (56), Christchurch, New Zealand Oct 12, 2008 Bottle at MU SteakHouse. Served in the Leffe glass. Pretty strong typical Belgium aroma. A strong yeast presents and fruitiness. Creamy beer, complex with citrus, malts and a long finish. Great Beer!
