Maverick34 (439), New York, USA Dec 27, 2007 Draft. Pours dark, your standard christmas flavors and spices. Pretty good, and I agree the best of the Leffes. Karman_Ghia (276), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jan 31, 2006 This is clearly the best of the Leffe brand. It pours a dark plumb-red with a diminishing head. Though the basic taste is all malts, the generic sweetness of your everyday Leffe is elevated to greater heights with the addition of spices and Christmas cheer. There are, of course, no hops, but the plumb darkness is a fruity supplement, and the alcohol adds a bit of a bitter edge. bikesandbeers (419), San Diego, California, USA Nov 6, 2005 First rating for 2005!
On tap at Cafe Leffe in Arras, France. Red-brown with a good beige heady. Sweet yeasty aroma. Flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, carmel. Thin and watery. Uninteresting. Not a great beer, but by no means bad. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 29, 2004 Smoked aroma. The original yeasty Leffe-flavour. This is not very interesting. Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark Jun 10, 2004 [Draught] Brown coloured. Very bad yeasty aroma. Sweet and yeasty flavour. Thin. Very bad. I understand why the Belgians send all of this to France.
