Beautiful red colour that shows this beer’s quality. I’d say amazing colour . Very nice taste with nice foam. perfectly balanced beer. One of the best I think. No more to say, try it out and you’ll see my point.

Like a dubbel with a shot of brandy in it. Not bad, at that. (Warming, spicy (cardamom), dried fruit, smooth; brown, garnet highlights, no head)

330 ml bottle. Good looking reddish brown body with a big off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar and fruit. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel, slightly roasted sugar, spices, fruit, some bitterness and alcohol. It’s quite complex but easy to drink. Excellent balance between sweetness, bitterness and alcohol with a pleasant finish.

Pale amber/ruby. Inch-high off-white head fades to a thing covering. Good lacing. Typical Belgian yeast aroma, some white rum, lots of phenols, then some banana, nutmeg and cinnamon. Remarkably like the dubbel I brewed the other day. Flavour is mostly alcohol, some fruity malt, doughy yeast and some lemon. The alcohol and high sweetness combine to make and annoying cloying finish. Loads of alcoholic heat on the palate and too much carbonation. Used to think Leffe was the be all and end all of intense expensive beers. Thank god I got over the stage.

Nice deep ruby color with a large brown head. Looks great! Aroma had definate notes of rasberries mixed with some yeasty belgian fruity notes. Flavor was quite bitter, the kind of bitterness you get from green berries, mixed with a rather cloying sweetness. Guess it just went down hill from first to last impression.

Bottle: Amber, clear, lively carbonation, small, but stable creamy beige head; a subtle fruitiness in the by caramel and coriander dominated nose; moderate sweet, slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied, sweet-caramelly finish with a subtle fruitiness and some spices around. Pleasant, not too complex.........
