DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England Sep 30, 2007 Pours a dark ruby almost brown colour. Intense taste of nuts and fruit. Another fine Leffe. BelgianBeerGal (1274), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 22, 2007 Bottle at cellar temperature. Poured a clear copper color with nice carbonation driving a small tan head. Flavor had earthy tones...dust? dry palate? A little alcohol, a little bitterness. nice but nothing amazing. probstk (1005), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Sep 18, 2007 Updated: Apr 14, 200833 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served just above cellar temp. in a tulip glass.
App.: Medium copper, small light tan head, clear, some lacing.
Aroma: Very sweet – plenty of candy sugar, stone fruits and dried fruits, a bit of chocolate, some alcohol and wood, a little yeasty; hints of “warm” spices – clove stands out; dry, dusty hops.
Palate: Medium bodied, almost no carbonation, silky and smooth.
Flav.: Brown sugar, burnt sugar, some stone fruit, burnt raisins (really), some yeast, a touch of wood and spice; definite bitterness to finish and a touch of alcohol.
Where’d that bitterness come from?? The nose gave NOTHING away. Doesn’t seem to fit, somehow... janubio (157), Spain Sep 18, 2007 Amber colour, pours a reddish head that is not very big, but last for a while.
Smell is sweet cherries, dark fruits, cinnamon, caramel, spicy.
Dry flavor.
Taste: Cherries, a hint of chocolate, floral, spicies and a bitter touch. Fruits, caramel.

Clear deep red with a thin head and active carbonation.Nice flavor, surprising bitterness. Balanced with a touch of sweetness at the open and finish. Nice body. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Sep 12, 2007 (Bottle, BB 09/03/08) Pours a burgundy body with a spare beige head. Aroma of raisins, vinous, caramel, and biscuit. Flavor of dark fruit, caramel, and light tobacco with a dry finish. stdavid (6), Italy does not count Sep 5, 2007 Amber color with orange highlights, clear; nice head, good retention. Spicy and fruity smells, honey and yeast too. Warm and sweet, tastes of honey and candy sugar, dry fruits, alcohol too present, the finish is lightly bitter. Good carbonation, medium body, is too sweet and the alcohol is not well balanced but a good beer for being a Leffe!
