tomer (365), Rishon Le Zion, Israel Sep 5, 2007 0.33L bottle. faint aromas of malt, small head, clear brown colour with red taints.
Extremly bitter at first, but as the beer warms up, sweet flavours of caramel and stewed fruits appear. The finish is sour, short and not too appealing. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Aug 19, 2007 [Sampled in 2004.] Had loads of this beer with home from the bike tour in France. Very cheap in a sixpack. My second favorite from Leffe caused by the notes of bitterness, melonfruit, complexbodied, nutflavor, lots of ingredients and a great finish TaktikMTL (2745), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Jul 30, 2007 Bouteille de 330 ml dégustée au Saint-Bock (Montréal, QC). I’ve waited for this bottle a couple of years now. It’s old, but not yet bb. The aroma promises well, with fruitful cherry-notes and some oakyness. This is dark brown, with a small white head. I’m drinking this from a real La Trappe (champagne-shaped) glass, and the foam looks intriguing, like a swamp actually. The first sip is good with its fizzyness. The alcohol warms in a good way. More woody flavours and less fruit. Long, full finish. My kind o’ play thingie. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 9, 2007 Bottle @ Caffe Ke, Madrid. Pours a reddish-amber with an off-white head. Aroma is dominated by malt and spices, with that "bubblegum-ish" Leffe signature thrown in. The taste is dominated by Belgian candy sugar, with fruits and spices making an appearance as well. This is the most complex Leffe, though it is not the highest-quality of all the Leffe offerings. Allen (1285), Switzerland Jul 3, 2007 Bottled 33cl. It pours a clear amber beer with a big slightly tanned remaining head. A sweet aroma of malt, bubblegum, banana and spices. Some hay, leather and peanuts in the nose too. A sweet, fruity and spicy taste. Hints of metal. Slightly citrussy. A rather well balanced beer with some flowery elements. A complex brew. Some bitterness shows up in the finish which is grassy and buttery. A decent Leffe with a nice lacing.
