ska (124), Italy Aug 2, 2009 33cl bottle, dark amber colour, medium white head, caramel aroma with honey, dark fruits and spices notes, sweet flavor with metallic notes, medium body, finish with some alcohol, slight bitterness aftertaste, a surprise is really better than leffe blonde and vieille cuvee that I’ve tried some times ago JanEric (167), Meppel, Netherlands Aug 2, 2009 Ambercoloured, white head, staying for an 0,5 cm. Hints of caramel in the nose, also toffee and especially pepper. Caramel in the taste, some sweets and fruit and hops. Long finish, nice. edelbrauer (57), Rügen, Germany Jul 28, 2009 chestnut brown, little, quick disappearing head, fairly inviting, very nice aroma of red fruits, bitter orange, sugar and caramel and cheese. flavor is balanced between sweetness, and dark caramel malts with just a hint of roastiness, that gives a little bitterness. the alcohol is never evident and expertly built in. an inoffensive, balanced and rich brew SorenE (110), , New Zealand Jul 23, 2009 reddish brown, tan head. sweet aromas of malt, phenols, esters and red berries. same flavors but the berry sort of turns into a lingering chemical bittenress. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 14, 2009 330ml Bottle at home 22/10/2007
Some carbonation. Beige head. Berry fruit and hop aromas. Amber mid brown coloured fruity and strong in alcohol with some bitterness and dryness in a crisp warming malt finish. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. A hazy deep red/brown beer witha small and fast disppearing white head. The aroma is malty and lightly hoppy, with notes of dark fruits, caramel and a little bit of alcohol. Decent nose, but not extremely complex nor powerful. The flavour is quite sweet, sugary, with many fruity notes. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with almost medium bitterness, lightly alcoholic. Correct, but not exciting. zakkbironia (82), Athens, Greece May 16, 2009 Beautiful red colour that shows this beer’s quality. I’d say amazing colour . Very nice taste with nice foam. perfectly balanced beer. One of the best I think. No more to say, try it out and you’ll see my point. GreenWall (53), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Apr 28, 2009 Like a dubbel with a shot of brandy in it. Not bad, at that.
(Warming, spicy (cardamom), dried fruit, smooth; brown, garnet highlights, no head)
