altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov 12, 2006 Bottle at home. Sweet, fruity flavor. Cherries taste, also spicy and toffee-flavored. Tangy finish. Another excellent Leffe. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Nov 5, 2006 bottle. light brown color. dark fruits aroma. medium soft head. dark fruits taste. sweetness and toffee. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 15, 2006 Bottle picked up at Sainsburys, Kidlington 14-10-06. This completed the end of my Leffe taste test with Loz’s parents, despite having had these beers hundreds of times before it was about time I rated them, only realised I hadn’t rated them when I went and rated the Leffe 9, so went out and bought the lot apart from the Tripel. After the Tripel this is my second favourite Leffe beer. Poured a reddy/brown colour, little bit of toffee on the nose, smooth and quite full flavoured beer, little bit spicey, also some toffee swilling around again, good tasty beer, still it’s not without its faults as there is a slight alcohol burn there. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 27, 2006 Out of InBrev/Leffe this is the one I haven’t yet comme to terms with. Blond and Brown somehow goes down better for me. Dark redis collor with a smell and tast of raisins. Bit of bread. Some notes of caramel and not bitter ending. Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Sep 25, 2006 Dark red/brown liquid smells of raisins and bread. Constant but small off white head. Smooth and full flavored in the mouth that did not carry over from the aroma, touches on caramel. No harsh alcohol bite only a nice warm belly.
reakt (938), Greater London, England Sep 25, 2006 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Have had this many times but never bothered rating it. This bottle’s from Sainsbury’s. Deep amber with a small off white head. Alcohol is apparent in the nose along with hints of banana, toffee and apples. Spicy taste to match with a salty, bitter edge. Medium bodied and a little flat. Probably my favorite Leffe to date but still a few to go... HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 22, 2006 Bottle (330ml). At Saint Alexandre Pub, Québec City. Poured into a Leff goblet, deep slightly hazy chestnut coloured with a small off-white head. Sharply bitter yeast and spice aroma with brown sugar malt, a tang of sourness on warming. Tasted of raisins and apples, sweet spice and sharp bitter yeast, a backbone of soft caramel malt - very pleasing blended/balanced finish after an initial hit of spicy bitterness. Average body, slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel, very good carbonation and a slight bitter aftertaste - a very nice sipper, I enjoyed it as much or more than the Leffe Brune or Blond - very restrained and dignified.
