Sep 29, 2006 Bouteille de 33 cl. bu au Pub St-Alexandre. Couleur bourgogne foncée, collet moyen. Bon arome de malte très fruité et un peu épicé. Très bon goût de malte épicé et un peu sucré.

Sep 27, 2006 Out of InBrev/Leffe this is the one I haven’t yet comme to terms with. Blond and Brown somehow goes down better for me. Dark redis collor with a smell and tast of raisins. Bit of bread. Some notes of caramel and not bitter ending.

Sep 25, 2006 Dark red/brown liquid smells of raisins and bread. Constant but small off white head. Smooth and full flavored in the mouth that did not carry over from the aroma, touches on caramel. No harsh alcohol bite only a nice warm belly.

Alcohol is apparent in the nose along with hints of banana, toffee and apples. Spicy taste to match with a salty, bitter edge. Medium bodied and a little flat. Probably my favorite Leffe to date but still a few to go...

Sep 22, 2006 Bottle (330ml). At Saint Alexandre Pub, Québec City. Poured into a Leff goblet, deep slightly hazy chestnut coloured with a small off-white head. Sharply bitter yeast and spice aroma with brown sugar malt, a tang of sourness on warming. Tasted of raisins and apples, sweet spice and sharp bitter yeast, a backbone of soft caramel malt - very pleasing blended/balanced finish after an initial hit of spicy bitterness. Average body, slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel, very good carbonation and a slight bitter aftertaste - a very nice sipper, I enjoyed it as much or more than the Leffe Brune or Blond - very restrained and dignified.

Sep 15, 2006 Brownish almost-purple appearance, big initial frothy head, which quickly dissipates. After pizza smells a bit like sour milk but floral. Toffee caramel with a bitter aftertaste. Palate a bit thin.

Sep 3, 2006 Pours brownish amber with a mostly receding wispy off white head. Aroma of cotton candy, toffee, fruity esters, and slightly medicinal phenols. Taste is sweet and fruity, toffee, plums, and pepper. Mouthfeel is medium, slightly sticky with lush carbonation.

Aug 21, 2006 Bottle. Brown colour, little head. Sweet, malty aroma, caramel, toffee and yeast. Rich and sweet palate. Very good.
