Smooth and full flavored in the mouth that did not carry over from the aroma, touches on caramel. No harsh alcohol bite only a nice warm belly.

This bottle’s from Sainsbury’s. Deep amber with a small off white head. Alcohol is apparent in the nose along with hints of banana, toffee and apples. Spicy taste to match with a salty, bitter edge. Medium bodied and a little flat. Probably my favorite Leffe to date but still a few to go... HogTownHarry (3990), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2006 Bottle (330ml). At Saint Alexandre Pub, Québec City. Poured into a Leff goblet, deep slightly hazy chestnut coloured with a small off-white head. Sharply bitter yeast and spice aroma with brown sugar malt, a tang of sourness on warming. Tasted of raisins and apples, sweet spice and sharp bitter yeast, a backbone of soft caramel malt - very pleasing blended/balanced finish after an initial hit of spicy bitterness. Average body, slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel, very good carbonation and a slight bitter aftertaste - a very nice sipper, I enjoyed it as much or more than the Leffe Brune or Blond - very restrained and dignified. After pizza smells a bit like sour milk but floral. Toffee caramel with a bitter aftertaste. Palate a bit thin. TheBeerOrg (1569), Kentucky, USA
