Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland May 21, 2006 Dark brown head, big yellow head. Spices, fruits and mild chocolate and alcohol in aroma, good basic aroma. Medium to full bodied. Pretty alcoholic flavor with spices and chocolate, aftertaste is dry with alcohol flavor. Expected more out of this. bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal May 15, 2006 Bottle, 33cl. Beautiful red beer with a nice white head. Aroma isn’t strong, but it has some fruits and a strong yeastiness. Flavour is quite good, malty and fruity. Alcohol is somewhat apparent, but not overwhelming. Pronounced bitterness in the finish. Probably the best of the Leffe family. sinte (88), udine, Italy May 11, 2006 Clear dark amber body; average, mostly lasting, light brown head with good lacing; small bubbles of medium density.
Moderately malty aroma with light notes of hops; spicy (cloves) notes together with caramel, prunev and a clearly distinguishable alcoholic background.
Flavour is moderately bitter, notes of prunes and caramel.
Body is medium with an oily texture; soft carbonation and moderte alcoholic feeling at the end.
Good beer, very similar to Leffe Vieille Cuvee, but less complex and with a too strong alcoholic background. MiP (8793), Sřnderborg, Denmark May 8, 2006 Bottle. Sweet fruit and yeast in aroma. Sparkling, clear brown colour. Big, quite stable, rocky head. Yeasty and quite sweet flavour, with some sweet spices. Quite late aftertaste, quininlike bitterness, not very pleasant. First Rating. Bottle from Swedish "Systembolaget" in December 2005. Dark red close to brown color. Smell is almost non existans and taste is weak. Compared side by side to the Leffe Tripel the Tripel wins by at least a mile. 5/3/5/3/9=2.5 saxo (3513), Hřjbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Apr 1, 2006 Bottle. Nice tan head with good duration.
