NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Feb 21, 2006 Bottle. 8,2% Pours brown with a beige/brown head. Sweetish and yeasty aroma. Flavour is sweetish and fruity with notes of plums and yeast. Finish is bitter and dryish, but feels a bit thin. Slight notes of apple. 22-02-06. CiroFerrara (85), USA Feb 21, 2006 Only one thing to say about this beer: SIMPLY IMPRESSIVE! The Leffe brewery really knows how to brew beers in a way that results in hell of a good beer brew. I like this one because of its deep aroma and fruity flavor. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 6, 2006 Bottle.
Clear red coloured with a huge off white head.
Aroma of fruits and spices with notes of citrus.
Sweet flavour of citrus and spices with notes of fruits and yeast. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Dec 29, 2005 This is not my idea of a good Belgian beer. Waaaayyy to sweet! Cherry syrup in the aroma and on the palate. The alcohol is well hidden, but only because it is buried under cough-syrup sticky sweetness. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Dec 28, 2005 Updated: Nov 9, 2007Dark amber with a medium lasting head. Fresh aroma of malt, citrus and raspberries. Well balanced flavour that begins (berry-) sweet and then turns dry and hoppy, but not really distinct in any way. At a reasonable price it’s a bargain, but it’s far from the best strong Belgians.
Aged tasting, best before November 07, tasted November 07: Aroma is very similar. Flavour is slightly oxidized, (rasp)berry clearly dominates the hops now, mouthfeel is big and fat. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Nov 19, 2005 Gol;den brown appearance with a full body. Some fruitiness but not overpoweringly so, and quite deceptive as the relatively high alcohol presence doesn’t distract from the complexity of the beer.Left plenty of lacing. A good drink especially in the winter.. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 18, 2005 33cl bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis (thanks!). Bottle labeled best before 11/03/07. Poured a medium and clear reddish/copper color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, light yeast, and caramel. Tastes has the same dark cherry and raspberry quality to it with other fruits. Light alcohol finish. Medium sweet with a light tartness to it. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Nov 12, 2005 Large off white head, light carbonation.Fresh aroma, herby, some hops. Enjoyable taste, bitter sweet finish. bitter stays long. A very special beer.
