| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Bottled. A mid brown coloured beer with a large off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is sweet and sugary with caramel fruits and yeasts. The taste is candy sugar and fruitiness. Typically Belgian without being mainstream like you would expect from a multinational beer. Nice malts and nice beer all round. CampbellWilson (533), Scotland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2005 Beer No 11 on the Wilsons’ Road Trip 2005. Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Chester. Much better than I expected. Unusual reddish colour. Aroma includes smoke and wood, spice, dark fruit. Good mouthfeel. Nice vinous finish. thehipone (197), Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2005 Pours out to a deep reddish color topped by a lingering, finely beaded head. Typical Belgian beer aroma of dark fruits and spice plus a bit of rose smell. The flavors arent quite as heavy as I expected, again the dark fruits and spices are there, but nothing really takes over the palate. A little bit of that horse-blanket flavor near the finish.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.
Alcohol content is apparent, not quite as well hidden as the top Belgians. harrisoni (6771), Ashford, Kent, England

Reddish brown, some berry fruit some flral hop and yeastiness, malt fruit but ultimately not enough to keep you interested and is ultimately a bit tame JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2005 33 cl bottle. Ruby tinted, dark brown beer. Aroma is spicy and yeasty. Some heavy spice, leather, dusty, and quite fruity. Apricot, plum, and some flowery aromas. Flavour is quite sweet, but the yeasty spice and fruit keep it well balanced. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2005 Bottle. When poured this looks absolutely fantastic. Sweet but fresh aroma. Flavor holds quite a bit of alcohol. But it’s definitely a pleasant brew. It’s complex, well balanced and with a fresh note. Not as full and rounded as others. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2005 Updated: Apr 27, 2006A red-brown clear liquid, with a fairly large head that dwindled away to a thin layer and left a small amount of lacing. Smatterings of nuts, pears, and smoky sherry. Slightly bitter aftertaste, although a bit weak on the palate for what is otherwise a complex beer. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2005 Amber brown with off white head. Grassy nose with some nuttiness. Very rich and dark with nuts and molasses as primary flavors followed by a faint cherry note. Awesome!
