TomDecapolis (3127), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 20, 2005 Poured from the bottle with a nice off white head that laced the glass. The body was amber and the aroma...you got it, it’s a Leffe. Still can’t really pinpoint exactly what the aroma and flavor of a Leffe is, but it is there in all the ones I tried (Brune, Tripel, Blonde and now this). Slight cherry in the aroma with a sweetness in the flavor that helped set it apart from the other Leffe’s. A slight alcohol taste and burn. The aroma is everything with this beer, and its perfumey scent makes each sip taste very sugary and sweet. A great, almost fruity, aftertaste. In my opnion, it’s the best Leffe beer! bkurtz (276), Peru May 27, 2005 Poured a beautiful dark amber with tiny bubbles of carbonation and creamy head with lacing. Slightly sweet with fruit tones. Well balanced malt and yeast flavor. A tasty, velvety smooth beer. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 19, 2005 This pours a deep copper color with a tall, fizzy tan head. The aroma is delicate, light fruits and some malt sweetness. The hardy ABV is well-hidden, both in aroma and taste. It’s smooth to drink, a spicy cherry flavor with solid malts and some real yeasty fruitiness. Dry finish. Tasty and warming. shrubber85 (2832), Wallhalben, Germany May 14, 2005 Bottle. Sweet cherry apple aroma. Medium brown color with small head. Sweet malt and yeast flavor with moderate alcohol finish. ಠַಠ (1375), San Francisco, California, USA May 14, 2005 Bottle. I liked this quite a bit, it’s like Chimay Bleu with a bit of plastic in the taste and a slightly thinner mouthfeel. And of course, it wasn’t a 7-year old sample that led to my inflated 4.9 rating of the stuff. Bready taste and flavor. Strong, heavy malts. Prominent yeast, some grapes, plum. Feels about right for 8.5%, with the alcohol just peeking out like my ex-girlfriend’s thongs always did. Oh, how I love modern fashion. Good stuff. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA May 12, 2005 Updated: Sep 26, 2005Copper brown body with thin tan lacing head that rings the glass. Caramel, spice, fruity aroma. Malty spicy caramel cherry flavor with smooth creamy palate.
