plovmand (1589), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 14, 2008 Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a medium beige head. Spicy and malty aroma. Falvour is fruity with caramel, spices and sweet malt. Smooth body. wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Sep 12, 2008 Bottle, Cafe Leffe, Strasbourg. I seem to recall really liking this about 5 years ago, but am now really struggling to see why as this was very undwerwhelming.
Pured a reddy brown with a medium off white head. Malty aroma with some fruit and spice. Sweet and malty flavour. Really very average. Thought this had much more character, but it wasn’t evident on this occasion. TrappistNr8 (15), Goes, Netherlands Aug 31, 2008 (bottle) red-brown-like colour, Fruity aroma, caramel, a bit of spice. I find the taste a little overdone with fruitiness and a little too sweetened, but I’ll sure try it again from time to time Borresteijn (1347), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 19, 2008 Bottle @ Café Gollem. Amber colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, fruits, spice. Flavour is malty sweet, fruity, a bit spicey. Like a strong version of Palm Speciale. Not my style, too many "amber" flavours. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Pours a reddish brown and has a spicy yeastiness. Above average mouthfeel. Satisfying though not exceptional Belgian. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Jul 20, 2008 330 ml bottle, bought in shop in Oostende. Brown color, nice off-white head. Aroma is malty with a kind of «oldness», some spices. Flavor is sweet malt and some spices, rustic sourness and fruit. Dry finish. Strange, but interesting beer. BoBoChamp (1334), Gent, Belgium Jul 19, 2008 Updated: Oct 6, 200833cl, from Hopduvel Gent, complex, but easy to drink, clear, small head, good brew REDBOSOX (70), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2008 I really like this beer! It’s a beautiful brownish red with lesser head than most Leffe beers. It’s surprisingly smooth for an 8.2% beer. It’s got a good fruity flavor with a nice light mix of caramel. It has a good finish to me. Overall, a very impressive beer. Not a surprise for a Leffe beer.
