A beutiful red beer with a wonderful head. It has a sweet aroma of fruits. And a sweet tickling taste of flowers and fruit. It ends of on a slight bitter note. You do not taste the alcohol content - a very nice beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Reddish brown ale. Pronounced bitterness with a very complex aroma. Fruity, perfumy but far from cloying. A very spicy and unique brew. 120493

33 cL bottle. Pours clear deep amber with a thick creamy light off-white head. Deep malty aroma and a lot of dried fruits. A minor spiced note too. Sweet caramel malty flavour with a lot of cane sugar. Nice balance giving a soft experience from start to finish. Finish is slight warming to burning. Nice by all measures.

Bottle. Sweet fruit and yeast in aroma. Sparkling, clear brown colour. Big, quite stable, rocky head. Yeasty and quite sweet flavour, with some sweet spices. Quite late aftertaste, quininlike bitterness, not very pleasant.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is dark fruits, yeast and hops. Flavour is made out of pretty much the same. A bit glueish, but otherwise very nice brew.

Well mature bottle. Dark amber color; creamy giant head. Some malt, caramel, spices and grass in the nose; malt, caramel, honey and spices in the flavor; the taste is also completed by a correct bitterness; hides well the alcohol content. Bitter long final.

In my early years I used to consider it my favourite one. Actually it's too poor in character and originality; but it's solidity pushes it to be the best among the Leffe.
