May 21, 2006 Dark brown head, big yellow head. Spices, fruits and mild chocolate and alcohol in aroma, good basic aroma. Medium to full bodied. Pretty alcoholic flavor with spices and chocolate, aftertaste is dry with alcohol flavor. Expected more out of this.

Feb 14, 2007 Bottle. Chestnut red, good off white head and moderate condition. Malty sweet with some caramel and a vague sense of mushroom funkiness in the nose, sweet buttery malt and peppery hop bitterness in the mouth with some chocolate and fig notes, gentle bitterness in the finish with some lingering sweet chocolate.

Sep 26, 2008 Bottle from belgianbeergal. Pours a reddish color with lots of floaters. Aroma is sweet and fruity. The flavor just doesnt live up to its aroma. The flavor is just a tad to weak. Malt, dried fruit, vanilla, spices. Not bad, but underwhelming. Oh well.

Feb 24, 2007 Big offwhite shiny head. Deep red body. Acidic fruity licorice aroma. Deep roasty lightly acidic taste with notes of wood and cinnamon. Dry, spicy, lightly metallic aftertaste. Some dustiness in aftertaste mouthfeel. A sharp, bitter quality in the mouth grows stronger as you drink. Not bad, has character. (0.33l bottle.)

Jun 23, 2008 Pours a clear reddish brown color with a thick white head. Aroma of apples with some candy. Interesting flavor of apples with a strong presence of candy, it’s sweet from the middle to the end. The body is light with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation. Interesting, I have fond memories of drinking this some years ago, I’m glad to find I can still find pleasure in drinking it.
