Taste is quite unbelievable; I mean I never tasted a beer like this before. Roasted, malty, hop biterness with some herbs. Nice smooth, dry aftertaste. Glouglouburp (2887), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Updated: May 12, 2008In short: A boring sugary Belgian ale with no character.
How: Bottle, 330ml, about 3 to 4 months old.
The look: Clear amber body with a small beige head.
In long: Basic sweet malts, medium-high sweetness level, some brown sugar and some candy sugar, some redeeming woody notes both in the malts and hops profile, light caramel, expansive carbonation, short finish. Leffe Radiant?!? I don’t remember anything being so radiant since the foggy cloudy London weather. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2003 Rich candied malt aroma, some almond notes too. Clear ruby, pretty beige head. Bitter flavour, woody, nutty as well. Mellow, well balanced, warming. A fine Belgian Strong! thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2007 From bottle at Brussels Airport. Clear copper with a medium off-white head. Freash bready malt aroma. Rather sweet with bitternessonly kicking in to a modest extent. Modest rye bread flavours. Not the sexiest beer around, but one of the better Leffes. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Dec 29, 2005 This is not my idea of a good Belgian beer. Waaaayyy to sweet! Cherry syrup in the aroma and on the palate. The alcohol is well hidden, but only because it is buried under cough-syrup sticky sweetness. Sweet, cakily malty nose. Opens with a lick of copper penny but develops some cardboard and alcohol. Kind of a turbocharged Belgian John Smith’s. Horribly thin, tinny and papery on top a Tripel Karmeliet. lightweight and characterless for the ABV. But have drank it before and enjoyed it. On this showing, very disappointing. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 16, 2005 33 cl bottle. No yeast in bottom. Dark amber colour with a rocky white head. Nice complex aroma of wheat and dried fruit. Great complex and spicy flavour. The alcohol is well hidden. Definately the best Leffe.
